Happy Friday, I hope everyone is having a lovely beginning of the fall season! It’s been an exciting week with the holiday and a brand new edition to our family that I’m excited to share. We didn’t do much this week as far as homeschool. We were coming off of a VERY hectic couple of weeks where my husband was out of town, and I was working full-time nights at the hospital. SO, Mom needed a mental health break. I’m still not caught up on everything, but my wonderful husband has planned to knock things out as a family Saturday morning. Teamwork makes the dream work!
First, we made Miss E’s Halloween costume over the weekend. She made a stencil on the Cricut Design Space and then used that to paint her Harley Quinn shirt. Then, we found a pair of comfy jeans that she didn’t mind giving up and dyed them black (they came out dark blue but whatev’s). We sliced the jeans up with a serrated knife for effect and that was all she wrote on the costume. I think it turned out amazing this year, and the make-up was on fleek according to my child.
Evie got dressed up too! We had to loose the socks after a few minutes, but she proudly wore her Wonder Woman shirt all day.
Asthma – boo
E’s asthma seems to be getting worse. I’m not sure if it’s due to this cold she can’t shake or what. Others have been complaining of worsening asthma symptoms and some who don’t have asthma have symptoms around here! So we took her into the doctor’s office and they prescribed a daily medication on top of her albuterol inhaler. She’s been on that for a couple of days now and it seems to be helping. We’re going to see a specialist next Monday so we’ll just have to wait and see what they say I guess.
I’m hopeful that once we move into the RV and are not in the city her asthma symptoms will lessen.
Braces are finally gone!
Miss E FINALLY got her braces removed! She’s sooooo happy, but still in a little pain. Here’s a before and after shot of the work. She will need phase 2 braces in a few years, but it turned out great so far.
E got an early Christmas present this year!
Those photos bring me into our brand new family member! I’d like to announce little miss Teal, the kitten. We adopted her on Thursday, and she is fitting in nicely. Teal is set up in Miss E’s room for now so that we can slowly introduce her to the dog. She is very playful and snuggly (as you can see from the photo above). She went a little crazy with the playing at night while E was trying to sleep, so E ended up in our bed. I can’t wait until Teal and Evie become friends so Teal can play with things other than our hands at night.
Other random things
That’s all for this week! Next week we have our first cheer competition of the season and I want to get back into the think of school work after this LONG fall break we’ve had. For myself, I’m working on a Thanksgiving lapbook freebie that will focus on the real story of Thanksgiving and the Native American tribes in the region. I should have that up on my site before the end of the weekend.
